Marden Henge

The Hatfield Earthworks are made primarily of a large, irregular-shaped henge enclosure, surrounded by a ditch and bordered in part by the River Avon. Within this lies a second Neolithic henge and a monumental mound. (25 mins drive)

Yarnbury Castle

Yarnbury Castle is the site of a multiphase, multivallate Iron Age hillfort near the village of Steeple Langford, Wiltshire. (25 mins drive)

Marlborough
Historic (goes back to 1067 and William the Conqueror) market town with very old, characterful buildings. Lots of boutique shops and great for browsing. Marlborough College a very old public school nestles at the end of the high street. (27 mins drive)
Salisbury
Historic cathedral city on the edge of Salisbury plain with many old fascinating buildings. Lots to do. Recently in the news for the wrong reasons because of the ‘Salisbury Poisoning’! (28 mins drive)
Winchester
Historic cathedral city and county town of Hampshire. Lots to see and do and some nice boutique shops. Winchester College is the oldest public school in the UK and is still using its original buildings (31 mins drive)
Hungerford
Historic market town with boutiques shops and a good collection of antique shops. Some nice cafes and delis for a light lunch! (27 mins drive)
Stockbridge
A small town with the River Test running through it. Some great fishing shops and other individual shops to browse in. The Greyhound pub serves a good meal (21 mins drive)
